If you’re a parent navigating the overwhelming sea of ADHD resources for your child, teen, or young adult, you might feel lost on where to begin. To help, I’ve compiled my top three favorite ADHD podcasts that have been incredibly insightful and supportive.

As parents, we strive to find the best ways to support our children and deepen our understanding of ADHD and neurodivergence. Podcasts can be a fantastic source of information, offering diverse perspectives and practical advice. Just like books, everyone has their own preferences for hosts, styles, and content. Here are the podcasts I’ve been tuning into lately that I find particularly helpful.

ADHD Experts -Additude Podcast

The ADHD Experts Podcast features leading ADHD experts who provide real-life answers to questions submitted by adults with ADD and parents raising children with attention deficit disorder. They cover a range of topics, including symptoms, school, work, and family life.

The ADHD Women’s Wellbeing Podcast

This podcast is hosted by Kate Moryoussef It is a supportive and insightful resource for women navigating life with ADHD. Kate, an ADHD lifestyle and wellbeing coach, engages in honest conversations with global experts, thought leaders, and professionals. While the podcast covers a wide range of topics, all tailored to help women understand and embrace their ADHD brains, a lot of the content is very helpful to parents also. Each episode aims to provide practical advice and inspiration to lead a calmer, more balanced life.

Autism: in conversation with Auticon

The series is designed to drive awareness of the realities of neurodivergence in the workplace, from the merits of hiring neurodivergent talent, through to some of the more common challenges faced by neurodivergent adults navigating the workplace. I am often asked about the reason for recommending a podcast that is predominantly about autism to ADHDers. This is because I find most of the content around autism is as applicable to ADHD.

Helpful tip

In the spirit of parenting and managing ADHD, I’ve often found myself persevering through podcasts that didn’t resonate with me, simply because they were recommended by others. However, it’s crucial to remember that if a podcast isn’t clicking for you, it’s perfectly okay to step away, hit pause, or explore different episodes, hosts, or shows. Our brains are more receptive to new ideas and strategies when we’re genuinely engaged and interested. So, trust your instincts and find the content that truly speaks to you.
