Neurosomatic Intelligence: A Key to Managing ADHD

As an ADHD adult, coach and mental health education consultant, I understand the unique challenges that individuals with ADHD face. One of the most promising tools for managing these challenges is neurosomatic intelligence. This approach recognises the profound connection between the brain and the body, emphasising the importance of becoming attuned to our nervous system.

The Brain-Body Connection

Our nervous system is the command center for our body’s functions, and it plays a crucial role in how we experience the world. For those with ADHD, the nervous system can often be dysregulated, leading to even more challenges with many of the ADHD traits. By understanding and working with our nervous system, we can begin to heal from the inside out.

Healing from Within

Neurosomatic intelligence offers a pathway to this healing. It’s about more than just mindset; it’s about addressing the deep-seated behaviors that have developed over time due to trauma or dysregulation. As mentioned in the Trauma Rewired podcast, “Neuroplasticity is the science of hope.” This concept suggests that we are not stuck with our current reality; we have the power to change”

Regarding the wellness industry there are a wide variety of ways that we can invest our time and money in. I have dipped my toe in many of these and really enjoyed them at the time. However the effects were not long lasting. I am delighted to report though, that since making the brain / body connection and educating myself in the area of neuroscience, the nervous system and ADHD, this has elevated my wellness experiences exponentially. They no longer feel like a temporary band aid,.

When we invest in Neurosomatic education, we are creating this foundation that helps us understand how to reprogram our brain and nervous system, steering our body out of survival mode and into a life controlled not by past trauma but by our authentic selves.

Podcast Inspiration

In the Trauma Rewired podcast episode “Neurosomatic Intelligence: Part 1,” the hosts discuss the importance of gaining awareness of the nervous system and using that awareness to create positive outcomes. They share insights on how trauma gets stored in the nervous system at a young age and how repressed emotions can manifest physically. The episode emphasises the beauty of healing your nervous system and the transformation that can occur when you do

Neurosomatic intelligence is not just another wellness trend; it’s a fundamental approach to understanding and healing the nervous system. By prioritising this education, you can unlock the potential to manage ADHD traits even more effectively and live a life true to your authentic self. Remember, the journey to wellness begins with understanding the intricate dance between our mind and body.
